Ryan spent a couple of years doing the leg work and research necessary to find his perfect match. He knew exactly what he wanted and we just happened to have her!

There are so many wonderful updates with photographs, I’ll get right to it!

Congratulations to Joe and Kimberly, who adopted Gracey in July! Gracey loves her new life in downtown Vancouver and her new parents are over the moon!

The weekend following Gracey’s adoption, Joe and Kimberly joined us, Michael and Maureen for one of our walks at Rocky Point.

Next, thanks to the generosity and collaborated efforts of the newly formulated “Born to Run Global Sighthound Rescue”, Chinook Winds Greyhound Rescue and ARK (Animal Rescue Korea), we were able to rescue this beautiful, gentle and emaciated female Borzoi from a kill shelter in Korea!

Korean Breeze is becoming a very happy, healthy girl and has a pending adoption on Vancouver Island with a Chinook Winds BC adopter!!! I am so thrilled!!!

PetSmart August 14 2011 was fabulous! Thank you Sharon, Angharad, Brendan, Tish, Gary and Joe for all the help and for sharing your gorgeous hounds with an adoring public! Thank you also to Louise who brought the newest edition of the Black Cat White Dog newpaper. We are on the cover!!!

Our precious boy passed away peacefully in my arms last Sunday. There are no words to describe what he meant to me… what we shared during our 8 years. Any tribute I would attempt to write for him would be sorely inadequate. Let me instead, share some treasured memories in photographs.

November 2003: From the moment he walked in the door, River was king.

He knew he was home and wasted no time getting comfortable!

He also knew how magnificent he was!

With his pack in 2006 when Sharon and I were roommates. Sharon’s Griffin – also sadly at the Rainbow Bridge, Sharon’s Ava, Breezy and River:

Fall 2007… Angel Griffin, Canyon, Ava, River and Breezy.

Summer 2008, shortly after Geoff and I married:

River with Breezy… this serene moment only lasted a few seconds! He soon realized he was being touched by one of his underlings! Ha Ha!

November 2010: He was a “Star” at Meet and Greets! How he loved being an Ambassadog, even when he could no longer stand for very long:

River was happiest on his walks. Always leading the pack with confidence and dignity. The “Port Moody Greyhound” walking group was his venue to shine. He loved new people and devoted himself to ensuring their first greyhound experience was an unforgettable pleasure!

Due to a scheduling conflict and my older gentleman River who is not well , we are changing the PetSmart Meet and Greet from Saturday July 16th to Sunday July 17th from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. The address is 1325 Main St. North Vancouver.

What a spectacular day… we are finally experiencing some sun!

Thank you to Dave, his wife Nadine, son Riley and friend Greg for coming to help walk the pups. Lorena, thank you for ALL you do for us! Michael brought newly adopted Hogan, his sister Mona had Mini the pug (who is doing so very well with all those big dogs!). Sharon was there with Ava, Miles, Jake and Buffy (who she is looking after for Tisha and family currently in England!). Kathleen brought her beloved girl Sugar and Geoff and I had our three monkeys. Altogether we had 10 dogs!
